Has anyone tried using the AMD FirePro PC cards in the 2006-2012 PCI Mac Pros?

Since the:

D700 is roughly equivalent to the FirePro W9000,
D500 is roughly equivalent to the FirePro W8000,
D300 is roughly equivalent to the FirePro W7000

One might think that slapping one of the FirePro W7/8/9k's in the PCI Mac Pro might work?

And of great interest to me for running video walls, has anyone tried the W600 in a PCI Mac Pro?

It will apparently drive 6 4k displays off one card. It's a single slot card, so you could potentially throw 4 of these in a PCI Mac Pro and have an astounding 24 4K screens (whereas the new Mac Pro is limited to just 3 4K screens).

Thanks for any info.

W7000 and W9000 would most likely work, because AMD drivers contain device IDs of these cards since 10.8.x. Took a look on 10.9.2 drivers and nothing has changed. But didn't hear about anyone running them in OS X, most likely due to their price.

W600 and W8000 seem to be not supported by drivers.

Thanks for that sheep. I'm hoping for the W600; it's a great card for wall use.

Although I also found a 7550 single slot card that supports 6 screens, doesn't even need a power plug it's so low power. However, it has some artifacts, at least as of 10.9.0.
