You don't need any credit card information to set one up, just don't fill in any of the card sections on the sign up screen. I've had my own iTunes account for over two years and I don't have a credit card, and not once since signing up have I had any prompts to give it my credit card info.

it quite simple actually.

just go to app store and create account.

i think it only works in app store.

when creating an account; theres an option for "None".

the none option does not appear in music

:)

That dosen't work anymore. itune has been updated

so did you make it?
anyway, a simple way which I believe still works is trying to download a free app, it will then ask for an account, try creating one then, and choose none as a payment option,it's not always there but I found it right after trying to download a free app.
