Are there any iPad apps which will play transfered DVD files?

I have an (un-protected) exercise DVD which I legitimately purchased. It plays fine off of my D: (Hard Drive) of my Win10 computer. (It copied to the computer's hard drive just fine...)

I copied it's contents from there onto my iPad (into "Documents") , but apparently I don't have any app installed which supports the necessary filetypes (*.BUP; *.IFO; and *.VLC).

So are there any iPad apps which support these types of files so that I can view this DVD's contents on my iPad?

Thanks!

What file extension is the actual video file? The Infuse app can play Video_TS files.
On my PC, clicking on any "IFO Other File (VLC)" (That's how it's listed under filetype) starts that chapter's video.

I tried Infuse too and it didn't support these files.

Thanks.

An IFO file is not a video file. It denotes the proper order of the menu or file being triggered by the user. In my opinion, your best best is to find a Windows program that can extract the individual video files from the DVD. Once that is done, you could use Infuse to play the files.

It's not a video file but rather an information file for a movie DVD. It is not playable. An accompanying VOB file is required for the video.

You might find it easier to convert the DVD to MP4 files using a free tool like Handbrake. That way, the files will play with whatever video player you would like to use.

Hmmm.... I think that I'll give Handbrake a try to convert the files to MP4. Thanks for that advice!

You van play VOB files from DVD rips with the VLC iOS app. These are the individual video files, you won't get DVD menus.
Although I've got the files converted to MP4, I'll try this with the original VOB files as well.

Good info! Thanks!

Can you be more specific as to which exact VLC app can play VOB files? The App Store lists a number of them when I search for "VLC" and the first one I tried wouldn't work with a VOB file.

Thanks again!

VideoLan is the best APP for playback, it plays every format I have thrown at it and it is a very small APP, not to mention it is free!

I also would like to add that VideoLan also plays all types of audio files, try to play a FLAC or other lossless file on your iOS device, VLC can do it.
