Hello, I love the Touch ID feature of the new iPhone 6s+. Besides credit card info, do Apple and possibly 3rd party developers also gather our fingerprints as well?

    No

From Apple's security article about Touch ID
I think the bold part would be most relevant to your question.

if they did, then its time to panic...

Apple doesn't allow Touch ID to be sent from the phone... its all done local on the device. No fingerprints are stored. however even a mathematical representation is just a clever way of saying "While its not directly access, it can be used to provide." and if that makes u feel safer, then ok..

It's all still done local though. and until someone can prove otherwise info is sent out, I'll keep using it :D
