If you order a 5S on Friday 12:01am,

Can you order reach you on a Saturday?

This would be for UK residents.

No, shipping will be 1-3 days, not 24 hour dispatch. A even if you pay for Saturday delivery the earliest you can hope to get it will be Tuesday.

I think it's possible for Monday. The first batch could very well get processed and shipped Friday.

It might not happen, but it is possible.

I was hoping to order the iPhone 5S and have it delivered before i return to university on the 30th of September. What do you think the chances of this are? realistically.

No problem. Honestly though you can just walk into the store and pick one up on the 20th. The 5s wont be flying off the shelves.

I was thinking of going to my local store on the 20th, but after a few people said there will be big queues i thought against it, simply because i cant get there before 8am. I live in the UK if that makes any difference to the amount of stock at the stores.

If the yield of the 5s is as low as some rumors have it, the shelves won't be full of them on Friday.

I think you chances are pretty good considering the 5c is being delivered a week after pre-orders started.

I wouldn't be so sure about this - they may not fly off the shelves but supplies might be tight. iPhone 5's were really hard to come by for a couple of weeks after launch.

The main reason i ask this question is because at the moment, i have no phone (i sold my Samsung Galaxy S4 couldn't stand it anymore!!!!). If i can get the 5S before returning to university on the 30th it will be much easier.

You do understand that the 5s isn't out yet right?

Sometime thing just do not work out.

If 5S supplies are real low you might be in trouble. You should have one delivered by the 30th unless Apple is really short and then people will be PISSED!

Highly doubt it. I say you can stroll into an apple store on the 20th at 9am and pick one up. No problem. Don't buy into the hype here.

Yea that's what i'm afraid of :( i heard stories about the Apple online store crashing last year with the iPhone 5 release. I'm hoping to be able to order one as soon as they are available at 12:01 am here in the UK.

Yup that's why I purposely used an ' (apostrophe) when I normally wouldn't.

This is still a good plan. Only the very keen will stay/get up to place their orders so it should be possible to get online early doors. Then you still have the option of queuing up to get one on the day.

Yea that's what i'm hoping for, to be amongst the first batch that's sent out. and (fingers crossed) to receive it before the 30th.

And if there IS a supply problem.

I could care less either way as I will order mine. My 5 works quite well!

I have been though these iPhone introductions many times and the pain from having to be first is not there anymore, though I do understand how others feel.

No one knows how the introduction will go. I do see this one as different as there is no preordering this time which "could" be a harbinger of bad news for 5S inventory. Time will tell as no one knows. :p

100% agree. The 5S really in my mind is just not worth waiting in line for. All the people that will be scrambling to order early Friday are going to be really bent out of shape when they could have just strolled into the store and picked one up. It works out like this every single time and with the 5S it will be easy to walk in and walk out. The demand for the 5S is probably less in the US than any other iPhone in the past.

I'm pretty sure that supplies are going to be tight, whether demand outstrips those supplies remains to be seen.

Personally I don't think any gadget is worth queuing up for ... but that's just me :) also on this occasion I want to actually take a look at the 5s before I buy one so I'm happy to wait for the "mad rush" to calm down.

I do not agree. It will sell VERY well and I still think that Apple will lack stock in all configurations.

3 different colors and 3 different memory configs and multiple carriers.

Still betting they will be short in supply! I will look you up this Friday!:)
