Do cases designed for the 2G IPod Touch compatible with 3G iPod Touch

A sales told me that cases for 2G IPT can be used on the 3G IPT. I worry that although they may fit, there might be slight differences between the 2G and 3G IPodTouch. I do not want the case to scratch my new IPT. Any idea?

I can confirm that the 2G and 3G iPod touch cases are dimensionally identical.

According to the folks at Apple, the 2nd generation and 3rd generation iPod Touches are the same size. The 2nd generation case will work. But personally I think the hard case won't fit it, only leather and silicone iPod cases that can adjust to the size.

they are the same size. i dont know why you're in the iphone section to ask this tho 😛
i was going to sell my ipt2g to buy the new ipt3g with the CAMERA but they decided not to include it for some reason... sad 🙁
