Go with a Retina, not for Retina, for the IPS display, your eyes will thank you in the long run.
mba--> higher resolution
mbp--> better viewing angles
TN panels strain eyes more than IPS?
IPS has better viewing angles, far less colour shift, generally are more colour accurate, etc. If your usage involves a lot of reading then the Retina`s with the IPS display is the way to go, those who have made the change will likely agree.
Yep I love my retina for the text, it's like reading print and that is fantastic.
