I don't understand why people are punished for continuing threads regardless of their age. If the topic is in line with ones question, why start a new topic instead of tagging onto an existing one to enhance the informational content of it?

I see it all the time where someone comes on asking a question and is hounded to search, search, search but when searching is done and someone posts in an old thread, people are hounded for resurrecting an old thread...

If someone has a good reason, i'm willing to listen.

I'm in high school and I use a Pro.

First, it doesn't weigh anything. Seriously, the weight is a non-issue.

I use the Pro for a few reasons; I do need 'legacy' I/O, for one. It also comes down to price: an Air with more than 128GB is considerably more expensive. I get 500GB in the base price.

The circumstances from when the thread was made no longer exist. The white MacBook was discontinued, the 13" Pro (and 13" Unibody a year before that) came out in 2009 (and has since become the single most popular model among college students), the MacBook Air was released and has since been redesigned into a much cheaper and more powerful system, Intel integrated graphics chips have improved dramatically, the iPad came out etc.

I bring my 15" macbook pro to class every day. It weighs less than one of the books lol.

I agree with you though not in this situation! This was bumped to say..

Yes a college student need a Macbook Pro.

.. which is slightly irrelevant!
