I am currently designing my own app. Once I pay the 99$ and become a developer for the app store I heard that the discount is 500$, is that true? If so I could get a mac mini for 120$ with taxes and such right? I am 14, am I legally allowed to have apps in the app store or should I set it up so my Dad gets the money sent to him and he just gives it to me? 500$ off is sweet:D

iPhone developers don't. Last I checked you had to be a $500 a year (or more) paying member to their Macintosh software development program. It isn't a blanket $500 off but a percentage of the purchase price (similar to education discounts).

Students enrolled in higher ed that become a student developer (which I believe is $99) can utilize this cheaper purchase price once in a lifetime also.
