If the subject that you want to be focused is not in the center of the frame you GOT to touch the screen. Have you heard of the "rule of thirds" on composition? Google it and it will explain what make a better photo.

IrishVixen macrumors 68030 Jun 20, 2010 2,504 116 Nov 5, 2011 #4 Automatic everything using the built in app = snapshot, usually a piss poor one. Camera+, choose own focus AND exposure points separately = photograph, usually a very good one. The choice seems like a no brainer, to me.
