The app in the iPhone updates your facebook status and says it's via the iPhone.

I believe the app in the iPod touch also says you updated your status from an iPhone even though it's from an iPod touch...

Yes, because for some reason right now it doesn't distinguish the two. It just considers the app to be "Facebook for iPhone".

It's supposed to. The app is Facebook for iPhone, usually meaning it works on both the iPhone and iPod touch. If there was a Facebook for iPod, then it would say that instead.

Yes, but it really should say "via iOS" though since iOS runs on many devices.

Yes, it will be really cool if it said via iOS. Would be much better than via iPhone. I wonder if facebook has some sort of feedback page where you can make suggestions?

People recognize iPhone more rather than the huh to iOS, "via iPhone, from iPhone" is still the better message.
