Despite all of the naysayers, it is possible. I have an iPhone 4 with an A5 processor. There are a few beta4s prototypes that was given to game developers before the 4s was released. Look at your serial # and if it contains "beta4s" at the end, then you do have one. I would know, I've got one.

Here it is. Notice the serial number.

There is no telling unless you take a peek inside. Since I'm going to replace my screen, I'll take a look at my processor just to verify my suspicions. I'll take pics.

That's NOTHING.

My iPhone 3GS has an A5 chip (the revised one that is in the newer iPad 2 WiFi, original iPad mini, etc.).

They only made seven of them like that in 2012. It had something to do with them testing a new device with a curved back (which eventually lead to the creation of the iPhone 5C). They slapped the chip in the older phones instead of building a whole new prototype.

My uncle works at Apple, and he got one for me.

Pics or this is just a bunch of bullhickey.:D

Even the app preview images in the App Store says N90AP for an iPhone 4 lol.

EDIT: just downloaded the app, my 4S is N94AP not N90AP.

Didn't we establish something from this?

If the serial # doesn't include "beta4s" then it's an a4.

This is complete horse ****. If you have an iPhone 4 your device is an A4. End of story.

It IS possible. I have seen them, and can absolutely confirm they are real (as the one pictured, they have the beta4S serial though). It was for app development as the A5 was the first iPhone venture into the land of dual core procs.

I just recently happened into a brand new 4S myself (built in 2/14) and I must say it's impressive for what is now an ancient phone in terms of tech. It aint replacing my 5S, but it's still perfectly usable in every respect. We are SO spoiled...

Long live the A5!:D
