Do I have an LED Backlight display?

Apple just replaced the top part of my late 2006 MacBook Pro.

The LCD panel's colors seem different then the old one. Is there a way to identify if this is one of the new LED backlit displays?

I doubt it. You probably just need to calibrate your new screen.

go to "about this mac" click "more info" then click "graphic/displays" it should tell you all you need to know there. but like ericnau said i doubt it. sorry

No LED sport. But hey it could be worse, you could be owning a powerbook G4.

Color differences could mean different panel calibrations or manufacturer. Apple usually replaces with compatible parts.

Not really. the system profiler displays graphics cards etc. You got to go to system prefs for the display's info

edit: i looked there on mine and didnt see anything that gave a serial number. where do you find this?

I think the circuitry for the LED screen and the non-LED screen is different. Thus, they're incompatible.
