I am trying to add music & videos that's on my computer to my new iPhone 6 but says that it's synced with another iTunes library although it's the same computer I used for my old iPhone.

I was able to create a backup of my iP6 to the computer though. Am I safe to erase & sync?

The only thing you stand to lose are songs or videos NOT in your iTunes library. Or podcasts.

Yes, if that's the library you want to use and it has your songs and movies etc. on it. It should ask if you want to erase and use that library instead. When you sync again, then you can add the music & videos back. Your back up doesn't include music and videos. You have to sync those back on from your iTunes library.
