Do i have to put the HDD thermal sensor on? (older version mini)

I broke the connector on this pic, the 2 wires are now separated. the connector is stock on the socket, and is broken.

so can i just get rid of this sensor completely, will it able to run without it?

i believe you will be able to run without it, but might want a program like smc fan control to make sure your getting enough cooling.

the fan will blow at full speed until you replace that wire try www.applecomponents.com

yes, i put on some scotch tape to secure the wires in place.
I also edited that ifixit step because that step is not necessary at all.
