I've had my iPod Touch since it was first released (first gen). Lately I had been having problems with it not charging while it was connected. Now it's gotten to the point where it won't charge past 25% or so. I've tried different synch cords, restoring the ipod, soft resets, and nothing seems to work. Is it possible that the battery just might be dying? If so can I take it to the Apple store and buy a new one that they will install? What are my options here?

I would prefer to save this one instead of buying a brand new one.

How much does a new battery/installation usually run at the Apple Store? I might hold off for a new iPod depending on the price...
