    also i don't need an anti virus if i am surfing internet for all the kinds of websites?

    The only useful purpose for MacOS X antivirus software is to detect and remove Windows viruses so that you don't send them to your Windows-using colleagues. MacOS X antivirus software cannot detect or remove MacOS X viruses because there aren't any.
