All those quotes are great, but do you know what that actually means?

Yes it means:
A 64-bit chip has 1 terabyte of virtual memory compared to just four gigabytes in 32-bit processors. (To put this in perspective, one terabyte is 50% more information than all of the printed material in the Library of Congress.)

get it

I recently upgraded from CD to C2D. There is no real increase in speed but i have noticed a significant reduction in heat! My old laptop could get the processors up to 204 Degrees! My new one rarely exceeds 150. Anyway, i would say buy it and then upgrade later when you can get better stuff for way cheaper.

as mentioned by the time 64 bit is imporrtant, todays c2d machines will be so out of date.

heck even the g5 was 64bit

if you are just gonna do normal stuff on your computer i would let the price do the talking
