Do i need hard case for MBP 15"?

Just got a new 15" 2019, before i was using 15" 2014 with case. When i took off the case from 2014, it was in horrible condition because of dust, so i wonder do i even need a hard case with MBP? How many of you are actually using it? I think going naked is ok. I want to hear your opinions.
 
I don't use a case. I do keep a microfibre cloth between the keyboard and screen, but otherwise it's totally naked.
 
You mean like one of those shell type cases? I have read about people having trouble with dirt and dust getting in there between the case and the Mac and abrading the metal on the case. I would not use one.

Exactly about these hard shell cases, are you using your MBP naked? is it ok?
 
I have a clear skin on mine. I had done on previous MBPs and they looked like new after 2-3 years of use. Of course, no protection if you drop them, or throw it into a backpack and drop the backpack.

Not a single scratch? No issues with a hinges? How often you removed that case for cleaning? I myself experimented with a case on my previous MBP, it was a bit hotter with case on, plastic won't dissipate heat well, even with holes.
 
I don't use a case, but I do have a dBrand skin on to protect it from scratches.

It is a clear skin, a decal. You never remove them to clean. The only time you peel them off is when you sell the system. The one I use is https://www.bestskinsever.com/macbook-pro-15-inch-with-touch-bar

I keep mine in a hard shell case in my backpack. The plastic is all chipped on all corners from me bumping into things in my backpack. The macbook pro though is in perfect condition. without the case id imagine it being terrible
