I have a amcbook pro and an iPad. I don't know whether i need a Macbook Air or not. Although it is easier to the notes than the iPad but that is basically what it can do better than the iPad right?

No. If you already have those two there is no need. Buy a wireless keyboard for your iPad instead.

I would say that you really don't need it, since you have both MBP and iPad.

Now wanting a MBA, that's a different story. 😀

Nah, you don't need it. Save your money and use it to replace any one of those (MBP or iPad) when your up and ready.
