Hi, I have a 13' inch macbook with all stock parts, i was wondering if I upgraded with a 4G RAM if it will allow me to increase game settings and just make things look a lot nicer/smoother, I'm not sure to check how much RAM i even have right now so if someone can help me with that as well I'd appreciate it.

Hit the apple icon at the top left of your screen, on the menubar, then scroll down to "about this mac." It'll say how much ram and what speed it is on the popup window.

As for knowing if you need more ram or not, open up activity monitor under utilities, and press the system memory tab. From there it will give you "page ins" and "page outs." If your page outs are a rather high percent of page ins, then your computer would benefit from additional ram. I say if your page outs are 10% or greater of your page ins, then you could do well with more ram.
