always on display and blood oxygen metter is all I'm missing out sticking to the series 4? I just updated my iphone xs max to a iphone 12 pro just so you know I don't really buy the new apple products when they drop I'm usually content for years....is the 6th worth a upgrade if I don't care about always on display and blood oxygen reading?

Sounds like you have already answered your own question. If you are happy with what you have and the new features aren’t enough to make you want to upgrade, it’s probably best to save your money.
I was just double checking if I missed some features. I compared them on apple but wanted ot make sure

maybe the faster charging and Wifi 5GHz capabilities could be relevant features. As i am using the watch for sleep tracking, i like it to be almost fully charged while showering =)

I wouldn't bother.
I have the always on display turned off on my watch 5 anyways. The blood oxygen meter and ECG stuff are gimmicks in my opinion. You try them out once or twice, then its one of those features you very rarely, if ever, use again. If you really need the blood oxygen monitor you can get much cheaper standalone units online that are reportedly more accurate anyways......

The answer is: No.

I was at a similar point. We are even talking about an existing series 5. Then the blue one got into my focus. Then I thought: what the heck, what a miserable year. Do it.

...did it. Now i swap them from time to time and enjoy both.

Now unfortunately the iPhone 12 pro got into my focus... 😇
What the he... No, not yet.

Wait for 2021 and get a new form factor in Series 7. You'll get the always-on display then. The O2 sensor is pointless so don't worry about that.

Do you have any breathing issues? Where you have to check your Blood Oxygen level often?

If you do and you get tired of that, then yeah, if not then no, because I have a 4, and after the watchOS update, that thing was like ZOOOM

Didn't you upgrade your 4? Didn't you feel that? Freakin' dictation for an iMessage was like BOOM BOOM BOOM, I was like whoa, this 4 is snappy as hell...

I have a 6 btw, and check my oxygen...

you might want to read tbru this thread:
Still using series 4?

No reason to upgrade. The blood o2 sensor, while not gimmicky like others say, just doesn’t register enough. Measurement unsuccessful most of the time. Passive it’s worthless. Active you have to tighten your band and be still. Even then it’s 50/50 if it works.

There is a noticeable speed bump but it’s marginal.

I plan to keep my watch until a killer feature is unveiled or my battery starts to erode to the point it won’t go all day.

IMO the AOD is a game changer for AW. I know some don't feel that way, but it has been for me (S3 to S5).

The rest of it, not so much. 20% faster SOC, blood ox, 5 ghz wifi, always on altimeter. Not stuff you're going to notice much in the day to day use.

I'd say in general, if you have "no complaints" with what you have, you probably don't need to upgrade.

Unless you can sell it for a good price I would say no. I upgraded from a 4 and the differences are hardly noticeable. The blood oxygen sensor is a novel feature that is really just for fun imo. The biggest upgrade was the always on display. It took me a few days to train myself not to lift my wrist to check the watch. I could live without it, but it would be a little weird to go back without it. This might be the last time you can get a decent price for the 4 if you decide to sell. Just keep that in mind.
