Is there any reason to be concerned with using an external drive for backing up settings for programs, extensions for browsers, bookmarks, databases for programs, etc. if I am using Time Machine? I use to make a master folder with subfolders for each program that I need to backup data for and put it onto a USB drive or other disc.

Thanks.

Do you still backup individual files to a USB, disc or Dropbox OR do you rely on Time Machine for everything? I guess I'm just wondering if I can feel confident that Time Machine will backup EVERYTHING that I will need.

TM backs up everything, at once. Really cool feature is that you can restore your whole machine from it, without a hiccup.
