Do i really need to install the apple bt mouse software?

I have been using this mouse for almost a week and just noticed it came with software. Is there really any point, i mean it paired fine right out of the box and has worked ever since. Plus, im guessing the software that was in the box isn't even universal, so is there really any point?

He was just wondering what the software would do and if it was necessary. YOu did not need to be mean like that.
