Do Intel iMacs now have Youtube VP9 acceleration using pass-through to the Intel iGPU?

On my 2017 4K iMac, when I type chrome://gpu in chrome browser (brave://gpu for brave, etc.) I notice that VP9 is listed under video acceleration information.

When I open Activity Monitor the CPU usage isn't massive when playing a video.

Does Apple now allow GPU passthrough. Even though macOS AMD driver doesn't support VP9, the intel iGPU does support it on 2017 models onwards.

Or is the chrome information incorrect?
