This is a silly question... but I have to ask. I have purchased more than 6 smartphones over the last few years... all Android. all Samsung. (Galaxy Note 2, 3, 5, 7, S6, S7) The recently ones all came with SIM removal tool inside the box.

I just got a new iPhone SE this week, but I didn't see the SIM removal tool inside the box. Was wondering if I might have lost it because I opened the sealed box and took things out while I was in the car.

Thanks! :)

Bought an att variant 7 plus at best buy and it had a sim tool. Unless the best buy models are sim free.

You can easily use a small paper clip to open the SIM card tray if one isn't provided.
Generally that is the case, although I recall a thread not too long ago where someone damaged their SIM tray using a paper clip to eject it and posted about it and had at least some posters basically tell that poster something along the lines of "too bad, shouldn't have used something that wasn't meant for that".

what does the official Apple iPhone SIM removal tool looks like?

I don't suppose it looks anything like this gold one that also doubls as a headphone jack for iPhones.(except the 7 and 7 Plus)

It does indeed come with a removal tool. I have a few of them actually. Collected them over years. They look like this.

Seems like it doubles more for a plug vs a jack. ;)

sorry... Freudian slip. :)

I meant it doubles as a headphone jack cover. Apple was nice enough to say "it's 2016, why are we still messing with headphone jack covers, let's do away with the jack altogether" (so they removed it completely from iPhone 7)

My iPhone 7+ which I got from T-Mobile did not come with one, while my iPhone 6+ and SE (also from T-Mobile) did.

The iPhone 7 is my first phone in years (between Android, Windows and Apple) that did not come with one. I thought it was strange.

if you buy an unlocked device (or a cellular iPad) its in the little booklet where they put the stickers and 'quick tips' when you open it up.
