Agreed. Those cheap Sim tools that Apple does provide will work, but there are better alternatives. The new Sim trays are more difficult to pop out with the water seal intact, so a paper clip would likely work better with the added strength.

if you buy an unlocked device (or a cellular iPad) its in the little booklet where they put the stickers and 'quick tips' when you open it up.

Sim free iPhones have them. But if you buy them from a carrier then no.
