If you want to do a lot of gaming on iOS, the iPad is probably better suited as it has the larger screen, larger battery and a lot of times more RAM.

If gaming is a big concern. Use a battery case and stop worrying about battery life. But the iPad should do better.

Just make sure to use a game controller. The only iPad I've used that felt comfortable with onscreen controls was the iPad mini.

I just personally couldn't justify having two iPads, but from the brief time I owned a mini alongside my Pro I can say that it had an AMAZING form factor for handled games. If I gamed more on iOS, I'd seriously consider picking up one of them.

iPads generally have better battery performance than iPhones in all use cases due to having much larger batteries and in the case of wi-fi only models, not using power on cellular/5G connections. So yeah, an iPad should definitely last longer for gaming than an iPhone.

I use a iPad Air 4 for gaming which does really well in terms of battery life as long as I don’t crank the brightness to the max. I use AirPods + a controller as well, most intensive games I’ve tried are Sonic Racing and NBA 2K21 off Arcade

I mean at 6GB the 12 Pro has more ram than any iPad but the Pro. It would probably perform better than the iPad Air which has the same a14 but only 4GB. Otherwise I agree.
