I spilled an entire 12 ounce glass of beer all over my MacBook Pro -- across the keyboard, the speakers, trackpad, everything. Flipped it over quickly and had beer running off the entire bottom half of the laptop. Thank god I had one of those covers on. Not a single drop got into the keyboard and it runs as good as new. Don't worry about the heat suppression. Keyboard covers are a lifesaver if you spill anything on it.

Heat rises correct? What is above the hardware? The keyboard.

Since the heat rises and keyboard is above they design some heat to come through the keyboard. They are "vents" but just open so heat can flow through. That is why when it gets really hot the "g" and "h" keys get very hot.

I do not know exactly where this is. I have read it in many articles. Google it.

Not true. there IS a layer of plastic between the keyboard and logic board, and the led layer as well. so heat doesn't rise through this at all. it's expelled (exhausted) via fan through the back of the machine. I put on my clear type cover on my MBAir and ran fan control to monitor temps and there is absolutely NO change whatsoever in the temp at all. If you're getting a warm couple of keys it's from it being on for hours and using it a lot but it's definitely not because of a type cover I assure you. Always leave the bottom uncovered (don't use on top of a blanket etc and make sure all vents and air intake areas aren't blocked and you'll be perfectly fine. Try it yourself. Download mac fan control and test this, you'll see. The only "instructions you found were opinion online through a forum as this isn't documented anywhere by Apple whatsoever.
