Do matte iPhone cases affect signal?

I recently purchased the matte incase slider case and have been noticing severe signal drops lately....could it be the case or just a coincidence?

I guess the best way to be sure is take the case off and see if it improves, put it on again and see if it gets worse.

I have not noticed problems with my case.

I have the Incase Matte plastic case on my iPhone 3GS and haven't noticed any signal disturbance. I can see why you think it could be the case but I am doubtful of your theory.
