Do new iPhone models have better reception? I’m not thinking of modem speed.

I have a 5s and in my work place the reception is terrible. I came across somebody else that was using a more recent model of iPhone (but I’m not sure which one) and they were happily using FaceTime. I asked and they were using the same network as me. There is no way I could get anything close to a decent enough signal for FaceTime. Should I hope for a better signal if I upgrade my phone?

Yes, a newer iPhone's signal will much better than the iPhone 5s. However, I have found my Qualcomm iPhone X to still be subpar compared to current Samsung and Motorola flagships in both cellular and wifi signal strength, stability, and speed.

I have a 6+ and its call quality is often horrible. When I used to use a flip phone, I could usually tell when someone on the other line was using an iPhone. From my experience- personally, I think iPhone call quality is the worst cell phone. Worse than any $30 flip phone.
