Hi

I don’t understand do not disturb.

Can I set up Do Not Disturb on the watch, so it automatically happens only at Bedtime? or Do I need to manually invoke it at bedtime? Also not clear about the settings needed for the iPhone.

Thanks

I have mine set on the phone. I set it to 11 pm every night, until 6:10 am, when my alarm goes off. The only notifications I get during this time are from my Favorites (my wife). I manually set it, if I'm wearing the watch and decide to take a nap.

You made me rethink my setup and the issues I was having. My bedtime is 11 pm - 6 am during the week. During the weekends I keep finding I am missing messages if I dont manually turn off DND. And even then, it automatically would go back to DND after manually turning it off. DND does not have a specific day schedule (it is silly, it should at least have weekday vs everyday).

I just turned off DND and when to Bedtime (in the clock app), set it to turn on my DND when it is bedtime, and set it M-F only. This should automatically turn on DND during "Bedtime" and not turn it on over the weekend.

My question remains. If I don’t turn on DND, but have it under “bedtime”, will it work(11pm-7an) If, on the other hand, I turn on DND at the top of the iPhone, it appears on the watch as DND. Does this mean that if I get a call at 6Pm, it won’t sound on my watch? This is not very clear.

Schedule DND on iPhone. Toggle Bedtime on it if you’d like. As simple as that.

You’ll get sound & notification as normal outside of DND time.

Will the watch behave similarly?

If you set the watch to mirror the phone, when you have DND turned on during "Bedtime" it will act just like DND does, no calls, no notifications (unless on your favorite list and have it DND set to allow favorites) during the "Bedtime" hours.

If you do not set DND to come on with "Bedtime" I believe you get all your notifications, the phone just alerts you that it is bedtime, and uses it as a calculation to determine your % of desired sleep amounts.

If you set DND to be on it's own without "Bedtime" you will not get calls/notifications (except if you allow favorites) during the hours of DND. Doing it this way, you can not set it to "work day" vs. "weekend days" like you can, if you use Bedtime with DND.

Not sure if this helps. Since you posted this, I now use Bedtime to activate and deactivate DND so that on the weekends it leaves DND off.
