I was at the Apple Store today and a Apple employee was telling everyone not to update your iPhone through iTunes it will brick your iPhone.

why would an apple employee tell people to not update? wouldn't they just pull the update? given you're join date - not sure if this claim with no backing can be taken seriously. I updated my iPhone X with the latest iTunes and had zero issues.

Bricking is such a strong and overused word lately.

Bricking means that a device is completely and totally unresponsive to ANY input. As long as an iDevice can be put into recovery or DFU Mode it is NOT bricked.

Getting tired of people who toss this word around to mean anything BUT bricked.
