Hopefully no one here has ever had to deal with seeing a murder/death in person. There are videos on YouTube for the curious.

I have.

And no, the videos - an almost necrophiliac pornography for those who take a vicious delight in viewing the death, and humiliation and degradation of others - - seeing it as a spectacle - are not something of interest to me.

I've seen plenty of disturbing scenes on TV though.

As have I, but - as with computer games - few have difficulty in identifying this as fiction (unless it is shown on a news or current affairs programme).

My concerns would be more about the cumulative and desensitising aspect of seeing such mayhem and murder as a staple on TV on individuals.

Yeah, not the same.

Agreed.

depends

I guess it depends on the person. If the person is already physically ill, then most likely some sort of shock can kill the person. Also, if a person is unable to handle blood or any death, then that person may also faint/ die from a sudden shock. I remember watching on the news about a women dying from a heart attack, while watching the movie 'The Passion of the Christ' (2004) during the climax.
