I agree with virtually all of the posts on this thread. Refurbs offer excellent value, have been individually tested and come with Apple's warranties. In general, I don't think they fail more often than new MBPs, if anything, the reverse, as they have been individually tested.

if anything it gives you an advantage in the event that stuff starts braking down. you can claim that the previous owner must have done something to the computer.
 
My only fear about buying a refurbished Mac would be cosmetic. Something odd like the trackpad wearing, I mean I understand it has to pass I'm sure vigorous tests, but still there is a certain point in which they have to say "it's just a little wear." But that's why Steve Jobs invented Apple Care.

Don't fear. They are in "new" condition. Trust me! :apple:
