Do you get an outer box around the Apple box or does the machine ship saying kick me here?

Not sure about the MP, but my refurb MBA shipped in a nondescript white box. I'd be impressed if they shipped MPs in the retail box.

Yeah, at least as far as I know, Apple refurbs only come in the brown box, no inner box at all.

My 2010 refurb came in a plain white box. Packaging inside that was shaped styrofoam and a thin-foam bag.

Both of my 2006 and 2008 refurbs came in a brown box. No big deal.

My refurb mac pro came in a plain white box with packaging identical to that of my full retail mac pro. So really the only difference is you don't get all the pretty pictures and information on the outside of the box.

mine just arrived in a white box, nothing but packaging and the computer inside. Not entirely thrilled with the way it was packaged -- the white box had those handle cut outs, which are convenient for carrying but left the computer completely exposed to the outside world. In other words, there were wholes in the box that made the brushed aluminum visible from the outside, and susceptible to easy moisture, damage.

But the MP itself should have also been surrounded by pretty heavy plastic.

Nope, just the squishy material that covers all computers. Nothing that would keep out moisture, and it was easy to tear and was torn.

Oh that's right it had that white stuff and was taped at the top with the sticker.

Other than the fact that my plain white box had printing on it my new 2010 came in a white box with foam at the top and bottom, a plastic wrap around the computer and handle cutouts on the box.

    So what's the issue here?
