Do refurbished MBPs come with the new batteries?

According to ifixit the new macbooks battery is the same physical size as the previous model. I wonder if I purchased a refurbished MBP would it come with the newer batteries. The late 2009 15'' model with the upgraded battery would be really appealing to me. I don't need the extra power of the i5, I just want lots of battery life.

Has anyone purchased a refurbished 15'' MBP recently? Can they comment on the battery specs?

No, they'll be the battery of the same model that the machine originally ships with. Putting a 2010 battery in a 2009 MBP isn't going to get you the same battery life anyways.

Obviously it wont be the same battery life as a 2010 MBP. But, I think it would be defiantly an increase in life over the 2009 batteries. How do you know they're the 2009 batteries? Are you just assuming?

Look at the refurb store yourself? This really isn't something that's difficult to figure out.

BTW: The capacity difference is so small that even if it came with the 2010 model battery you're looking at a 15-20 minute increase in battery life under optimal condition. Not worth worrying about.

I can't imagine the store posting under the specs that it hosts the new batteries. That just seems silly, but they might still use them.

    I'd take an extra 15-20min.

Good luck then. Prepare to be disappointed.
