Do screen protectors work with ambient light sensors?

Or does the plastic somehow stops the sensor from working?

You mean like a clear film for the screen?

Well, if the light from the screen can get out than...

The one that XO Skins just sent me the http://xoskins.com/cell-phone-skin-protectors/apple-skin-protectors/apple-iphone-4S-screen-protector has a cut out for it.. It just came in the mail yesterday. Here is their site pic.

I emailed them about this when I ordered and they said this:

"For most screens the protector will not interfere, however on phones with a white surface like the iphone, it has to have a cut out."

I have also heard the same from a AT&T rep. Better safe than sorry.

So screen protectors without the extra cutout (for the white iphone sensors) won't work on white iphone 4/S properly? They will interfere with both of the sensors?

Interesting. What's the explanation, I wonder?
