Do side pieces over the antennas kill the signal?

The side pieces I got fit over 3 of the 4 antennas. Does that make signal worse? I notice in my bedroom I can use my IPAD 3 but I can't use my phone.

I haven't noticed any degradation in signal. I have the full body protection from Ghost Armor.

This post is devoid of information. What kind of skins? How thick? Material? Etc.

Straight wifi IPAD 3.

Lets just assume Best skins ever covering the antenna indention on the side of the phone.

Don't really use skins but my boyfriend had it for one of his devices and he never saw a degradation in signals.
