Do the Macbooks that come from Apple.com come with iLife '09 pre-installed?

    It may or may not, if it was sitting on the shelf, then chances are no.

    Should be shipping with iLife 09 by now... phone your nearest store and ask them?

    Just bought one on friday and I had a drop-in DVD in the box.

    If it doesn't come installed, then this is what you should find.

    was it the full "stand alone version" or an upgrade disc?

    I purchased a MacBook on the weekend and it came as a drop in DVD. Not sure if it's an upgrade - the label doesn't mention you need 08 installed, only 10.5.6.

    I just got mine replaced and the replacement came with an iLife 09 DVD. Didn't mention if it was an upgrade or not though..

    I purchased on Saturday and the iLife CD was in the box.

    purchased friday, just got it today. iLife '08 pre installed and iLife '09 in the box.
