Do the new Imacs run cooler?

Was playing around at our local Apple store and I noticed that the new 3.06 seemed notably less hot than the older 2.8. I asked how long the macvhine had been running and they said it has been on since they opened in the morning (it was close to 4PM). I wonder if Apple have found a way to reduce temps in the newer models. Has anyone heard anything about this, or noticed anything similar?

They're using the same processors as the previous revision. Even the 2007 2.8 GHz Core 2 Extreme X7900 runs cooler.

When I received my new 24" iMac (2.66 GHz), I had it sitting side by side with my 20" iMac (2.0 GHz), both the Aluminum style.

Anyways, I had migration assistant running, and I noticed the 20" was a bit hotter than the 24". I mean, I don't think we can draw any conclusions from this, but its worth the note. Could just be the 20" was doing alot of the work for the migrating process.

Could definitely be the case. It could also be that the smaller enclosure of the 20" causes more heat buildup.
