Isn't Thunderbolt the cure and reason NOT to do USB 3? Someone please enlighten me.

USB is cheaper for consumers, and there are already a lot of USB3 devices. Unless they release an adapter for USB3 to TB then they will include USB3.

USB2/3 = consumer
Firewire/Thunderbolt = prosumer
 
USB3 is NOT anything amazing in my opinion. I have a USB 3.0 WD HDD and the increase in speed couldn't even get me going, let alone giving me a reason to brag to my friends why I just bought a $70 HDD that doesn't really accomplish much. I'd much rather have a TBolt drive
