Besides the iPhone's that are on display (they are usually sitting on the charger hooked up to a security cable), can an Apple Store employee retrieve a tester/demo phone so I could try it out in true form?

Holding the phone with the security cable makes the phone so much heavier and makes it feel like you're holding a Microsoft Zune or something. 0:)

Also, does the Apple Store have demo Apple brand cases to try out too or am I asking for to much now? lol

Really? The Apple Stores I've been to have just a half inch circle that is glued to the phone, with a very light security cable attached. Can't be more then several grams.

My Apple Stores have a station of Leather and Silicone cases to feel. Cant put them on your device, but you can see how it looks and feels in your hand.

Ditto, all the apple stores I've been to in the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) have a station with leather and silicone cases to try out. But obviously you have to walk in with your own phone to try it on, you can't try it on the in-store demo phones because of the wire.

for your first question I've never seen one but I'm sure if you ask nicely an apple employee can fetch one for you, they have refurb and repair phones in the back.

Most people go to the store to gauge screen size and other things. The security cable/lock add minimal weight.

So yes...you're asking a bit much.

Really? The Apple Store is like the prime model of a retail business displaying and allowing you to try all their devices. Stop complaining about every little thing.

The Apple Stores near me do have the leather and silicone cases "out and available" - not locked down or anything. You could slap it on your own phone and try it out all you want.

Cases for sure. Even most of the 3rd party ones have magnetic boxes so you can have a look.

Don't count on there being any iPhones without security tags to play with though. Someone suggested there being replacement/service units to try. Replacement units are sealed until needed and they definitely won't hand you a unit in for repair to try (not many customers would be thrilled to know their phones were used for demo purposes).
