If you don't know, just mind your own business. I'm trying to save my friend the 3-hour round trip.

how sweet of you.

have you heard of telephones? it is a full-duplex communication device and what that means is that you could dial a specific number which would make a telephone "ring" in the closest apple store to your beloved friend, this alerts the person in the store and they would pick it up and after activating the talking mechanism you could have a conversation with them. the conversation could include a question such as "Do you still give a brand new iPhone for a swap?", which they would then probably answer.

it's quite a magnificent invention.

i fully understand why you would want to ask people in an internet forum though, internet forum people always get things right which means that there's no way your friend would waste his time on a 3-hour trip, if the person in the shop contradicted the forum member you could always say that "applefantony2967" told you that you can definitely swap in store.

I still really want to know how apple suggesting you get a new sim bricked your phone. Complete bull....

what happend is when we swapped to a brand new sim car it required a re-activation... the apple server rejected the re-activation...

For activation issues, try to go to an AT&T corporate store to get that straightened out for you.
