I think a lot of people have been put off by the thread title. Had it been "How sturdy are the Power Bricks?" then some of the harsher criticism of the thread wouldn't exist. But even if the OP has a form of Apple OCD, so what? If you don't like it or agree with it, don't read and don't post. If all you want to do is come on to a thread to complain about how lame you think the thread is, you have just wasted your own time.

Aah, I didn't know, but I bought a whole new adapter anyway. It actually worked out well because I can leave the "extension" cord plugged in behind my desk and attach the brick to it without having to crawl underneath the desk.

I can't possibly be the only one who's used his head to knock a desk drawer off its rails :eek::eek:

I do the same thing. Maybe the OP was wondering if constantly detaching the brick would hurt it in way in the long run.

Our new dog eats them like candy. I've spent $150 on power cords for laptops in the last 4 months.

I took the poor bastard to the vet last week to get neutered. I actually enjoyed that. :D

That's cruel! :p

Wow, we posted the exact same time VSMacone. You beat me. ARGH.:D

By SECONDS man!! haha :)

my brick's messed up.

the part where you coil the wire one of them has one side of the hinge broken and then plug has each prong moving individually.

my brick got hit by someone and the magnetic thing worked like a charm but my brick got fed.

Who cares. It's a thing... just like these damn computers. Boo hoo I got a scratch, boo hoo I need to wrap it in a protective condom to protect it from harm and STD's. Ya know what? I bet half of the people who whine about scratches and dings and bumps and their damn power bricks getting F'd in the A all sit at their machines and do NOTHING other than browse MacF'nRumors.

Tell us how you really feel. Don't hold back this time :)

The power brick for my Mac mini is so big that it scares the other power bricks on the floor. So I had to install it under the desk with a CinnaMount for Mac mini power supply. ;)

Man your brick is a bully!! :D

My power brick is a POS; I'm always trying to find ways to destroy it so I can have an excuse to buy a new one. (never buy the cheapest power adapter you can find; it will seriously screw with your system.)

Interestingly enough I've had several AC adapters for MB (3) MBP (3) & PB (2) over the past 6 years and never had any of the fraying and shorts people complain of. I am careful to connect and disconnect the cable but I just bunch up the cords and toss in my bag once its now longer connected to the laptop of the wall. I never use the holder clips, they just seem to encourage pulling the power cable out.

Cheers,
