Do USB-C Extension cables allow for fast charging?

I wasn’t thinking when I bought my Apple USB-C cable to fast charge my 12.9” iPad and bought the smaller one Apple sells.

I’m thinking of just getting a 3’ USB-C extension cable and I’m curious if the iPad supports fast charging through those.

Based on the fact that nothing out there besides the authentic Apple USB-C to Lightning cables enable fast charging, I would say the answer is no. No other cables nor any adapters have been shown to work.
