With a little expo called macworld imminent I'm just wondering if we'll see the 1.1.3 update.

What does everyone else think?

I'm not sold that we will 1.1.3 until they are ready to release the new iPhone or iTunes features they announce. Could be several days, weeks or months. Whos knows... thats my guess.

There should be a 1.1.3 tomorrow, at least to add the Locate Me function to Google Maps. I don't think we'll get anything radical, but the release of the SDK should allow Jobs to talk about unleashing the power of OS X on the iPhone.

Once the SDK is out there, I think new apps will start hitting fast and we won't be tied to Apple updates to get toys for our phones.

The new iPhone? The whole beauty of this device is that because it relies entirely on software, is can be updated and given new feature sets. Of course there will be new hardware released at some point, but I would be very surprised if any software updates werent also distributed to older models. This will be just like mac: new hardware from time to time, same great software.

My money is on something being released tomorrow after iTunes did its check for updates today and set the next date to check as tomorrow. Usually it sets a two week gap?
someone else on here noted theirs changing the date back from the 19th till tomorrow, and as itunes 7.6 is also due for release I'd predict some new functionality with itms, hopefully movies for the uk and the first apps?

Mine says 1/16. =/

Those dates don't mean anything... it's just based on when it last checked, nothing else.

I think you misread the post, it said new iPhone or iTunes FEATURES. :)

I just hope they don't make us wait too much longer for all the stuff everyone is wanting (the google maps update, flash, etc... the stuf we *should* already have)

I'm hoping for a new update / features, but im still on the fence about installing the update when its released, or sticking with my hacked 1.1.2

If they release the iPhone software update tomorrow everyone will moan that apple haven't remedied every single missing feature. I would rather have a kind of 'half way house' update than wait longer.

Yes, but usually it increases by 2 weeks. Mines said 1st Jan, Then changed to 14th. Then TODAY changed to 15th. Should have been 28th, or are you saying it randomly chose to increase to the start of macworld!

I'm saying that we go through this every time there's going to be an update (or people think there's going to be one...)

I have a very good feeling about tomorrow. After the hype and everything that went with the iPhone last year, it would be insane for Jobs to not do something with the iPhone. The last "big" update was in September, almost 4 months ago. Not only is the iPhone due for some new software, MacWorld provides the perfect setting for a big update. I think we will see a release similar to the 1.1.3 already shown, but I think there will be even more features added and the update may even be 1.2.0. The keynote setting allows Jobs the opportunity to explain everything and show it off, the way he did with 1.1.1 in September. It just seems way too crazy for there not to be something new with the current iPhone tomorrow, even if a new iPhone is announced.

I am not convinced that 1.1.3 is real...

Thats alot of features for a 1.1.x update, 1.2.0 seems more acurate. I also dont think if 1.1.3 is final and true that there is any advantage over a hacked 1.1.2

I've been wondering the same... 1.1.3 may have been bypassed in favor of 1.2. Whether we'll see it tomorrow or when the SDK ships is an interesting question.

A number of updates in the pipe. OSX 10.5.2 should be here soon (with support for any new hardware), and there is an iTunes update, and probably a Quicktime update somewhere in all that.

Then there should be some updates for Adobe. Sometime.

yes and yes 1.1.3 and SDK at MWSF I said this first about a month ago ;) I stake my reputation on it
