iPod do we need iTunes even just for recharging the Shuffle?

I really like my iPod shuffle though new iPod, Nano, was released which is so damm cool 🙁

Sometimes I get embarrassed when my Shuffle's battery is run out outside home without expecting. But it's hard to recharge it outside because even if I'm able to use a public computer in a computer lab, I need to download & install iTunes.

I really wonder why we need to install iTunes even for *recharging*
or am I missunderstading?

If you have a Playstation you can recharge a Nano and Shuffle off of that too.

I recharged my nano last night in that way 🙂
