do we really even need screen covers now with teh new hard glass?

What's the point now..the screens on the iPhone 3g werent THAT susceptible to scratches..and now with the new glass..I doubt it'll be necessary.

I don't care so much for the protection a screen protector offers, I buy the matte ones because they make the screen really smooth. Dragging your finger along the glass sticks a bit after a couple hours of use, using a matte screen protector stops this happening.
