my girlfriends iPhone X updated by itself to 11.2.5 and she was hoping to jailbreak. Do you think someone will release 11.2-11.2.5 jailbreak?

Coolstar stated most of his methods for Electra can be reused for 11.2-11.2.4. They just need a new exploit. He said 11.2.5 brings major security changes.

Let’s hope it’s true .if not jailbreak is dead

Well, there is no real useful JB for 11.x.x at the moment, also it went from fully untethered to dev account which is considered a failbreak anyway.

You only have to look at the amount of new postings the JB section here, it is a trickle to what is was in the earlier days.
Most devs have moved on to other things and other platforms and even Saurik considered closing Cydia.

It is fair to say that JB is dying and on its last breath, where as a couple of years ago JBers ran in to the hunderds of thousands, it now is probably no more then some 10 thousands.

The right to use stuff you own as you see fit is under huge pressure, with government oversight higher (and more legal) than ever before, for instance see the FBI case against Microsoft for data stored in Ireland and the EU looking for legislation for access to data stored outside of the EU.

The problem is big money, there are plenty of exploits and gifted wizzkids around but the bounty on a 0-day is so high that they don't find their way to the community any more. Troublesome at the least.

Freedom always comes at a price, but historically people tend to forget that lesson until something updates that given fact.

So what your saying is Electra is a fail??

If we are going by what has happened the past 2 years we won't see any new jailbreak for those os until the end of the year.

They released 11-11.1.2 jailbreak on Monday. And they released an exploit yesterday for 11.2-11.2.2
